Ingredients:
- Three pounds of a whole chicken
- Pepper and salt
- Two tsps. of barbecue seasoning rub (dry)
- Five ounces of butter (sliced)
- One lemon (cut in wedges)
- Two onions (cut in wedges)
- One-fourth cup of water
- One tsp. of butter (to grease)
Method:
- Preheat your oven at one hundred and seventy degrees Celsius.
- Use butter for greasing a deep baking dish.
- Season the chicken with pepper, salt, and barbecue rub. Place the chicken in the greased baking dish.
- Arrange lemon wedges and onions surrounding the chicken.
- Add slices of butter on the chicken.
- Bake for one hour and thirty minutes. Make sure you baste the whole chicken with the drippings occasionally.
- Cut the chicken in pieces.
- Serve hot.
